La Meta Program, Tecnológico de Monterrey Querétaro - Study in Mexico

The Tecnólogico de Monterrey, Campus Querétaro is pleased to announce a new international study program for undergraduate students called LA META that can help you reach these goals. This is an international opportunity for students interested in teaching as a career or in learning about children and educational life in México.

During this program students will have the opportunity to improve their language, learn about Latin American civilizations from historical and contemporary perspectives, and develop a broad understanding of education in México. Students will complete a carefully designed program of coursework and gain valuable field experience by interacting with Mexican children in their classrooms.

♣ Program

LA META is a program with a one year duration. During this year, the combination of classes in the Tecnológico de Monterrey at Campus Querétaro and in classroom experience in public and private schools in México provides an excellent and multi-faceted learning oportunity.

Semester I: August-December

Spanish (Intermediate or Advanced Level)
*Education, Culture and Thought in Mexico
*Observation and Participation in Mexican Private Schools
Social and Cultural History of Latin America

Semester II: January-May

Spanish (Intermediate or Advanced Level) 6 Credits
*Intercultural Communication 3 Credits
*Observation and Participation in Mexican Public Schools 3 Credits
Elective 3 Credits

*These courses must be taken in combination.

♣ Housing

Students participating in LA META program have three different housing options.

1. Host Family

Immerse yourself in the Mexican lifestyle and language by sharing a home with a local family. Experience family customs and traditions while improving your spanish skills at home. *Includes: housing, 3 meals daily, laundry and house cleaning

2. Residence Hall

Living in the residence hall gives you the opportunity to live, share, grow and make friends with Mexicans and other international students.
