THINGS TO BRING

Summer time is a little bit “moody” in Mexico. Mornings are fresh, some evenings it rains a little bit and most of the time is warm and comfortable.

Please bring a sweater or a jacket, raincoat, sandals and a nice outfit for the formal end of the term ceremony or in case you have a formal event with your host family. Mexican people usually wear shorts or pants, t-shirts, (dress casual).

It is very important to consider bringing comfortable shoes for our trips and excursions.

MEDICAL INSURANCE

It is mandatory for all Tec students (including international students) to have an insurance policy. Please send a copy of this document enclosed with the Application Form.

HOMESTAY PROGRAM

You should have already sent, along with your application form, a letter describing yourself, your interests, hobbies, and preferences on food, smoking or not, etc.

If you think there is more information we should consider about yourself, please e-mail Marcela Gasca, mgascas@itesm.mx  who is in charge of the housing program.  It is very important that you have written a broad and clear description especially if you have any special needs or preferences.

Once we have the matched you with a family, Marcela will send you all the information you need.

Once you arrive in Querétaro, you must pay $100 USD housing fee (non reimbursable).

ACADEMIC CONCERNS

SPANISH EXAM

During April and May you will receive directions and a password to take your Spanish exam on-line.  If you haven’t taken it at the time of your arrival, you will need to do so once you get to campus. However, we highly recommend that you take it before arriving so you increase your chances to enroll in all your chosen subjects.

COURSES

We offer approximately 20 courses including Spanish courses (all levels).

If you have specific questions about course selection, syllabus, equivalences and courses, please feel free to e-mail Verónica Martinez; vmartinz@itesm.mx
